Uses: Fruiting from August to November. the fruits have an orange aril with the 
taste of carrot cake, it has a delicate flavor and is great for consumed in
natura. The plant can be grown in urban afforestation, in central beds of
gardens or avenues, and cannot be missed in the recomposition of native
vegetation, as its fruits feed various animals such as the maned wolf, the
ferret, the maracambé, the vinegar dog, among others. The fruit has a sweet
pulp with a strong flavor and the pulp easily comes off the seed, making it
ideal for consumption in natura. The fruits can also be pulped and the pulp
frozen for future use in the manufacture of mousses, ice cream, crackers, and
cookies. The fruits of this species have a thick skin that is resistant to
handling, and can last up to 15 days in the shade outdoors, an ideal
characteristic for the commercialization of the fruits by small family farmers.
