To be honest, I haven't tried any of the high-quality Eugenia calycina varieties grown in the US, but I have tried numerous wild-grown ones. Most of them were quite bland, until I found this one.
It could be a subspecies, but it tastes like sour cherry pie and is extremely delicious. It grows in the native Cerrado behind Dalva's house.
