Annona hypoglauca, also known as Annonilla, produces smaller and slimmer fruits compared to common annona. The texture is creamy and buttery, with a mild sweetness reminiscent of annona.
While not particularly sweet, it can still be a delightful addition to toast after removing the seeds. This species is typically found in flooded areas near the Jaime family in Pacaya Samiria, Peru, and during my retrieval of this fruit, I received numerous ant bites. I still found the taste worth it!
