Eugenia itacarensis is a species of myrtle plant described by Joáo Rodrigues de Mattos. Eugenia itacarensis was part of the Eugenia genus of flowering plants in the family Myrtaceae. In tropical and subtropical regions worldwide, although very uneven. Most of the approximately 1,000 species occur in the New World tropics, particularly in the northern Andes, the Caribbean, and the Atlantic Forest (coastal forests) of eastern Brazil. Other centers of diversity include New Caledonia and Madagascar. they are grown as ornamentals for their attractive glossy foliage, and some produce edible fruit that is eaten fresh or used in jams and jellies.
