Eugenia caipora (Spicy Loquat) Seeds
Eugenia caipora was found in various regions during our exploration. It seemed to be popular with animals as it was widespread, unlike Eugenia klotzchiana, which was only found in a limited area and in scattered clusters.
This fruit can be described as a spicy, zesty, slightly acidic loquat. When unripe, it has a bitter taste around the skin, which disappears as it ripens.
Eugenia caipora comes from the Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest. Interested in seeing what other fruits are found there? Check out this extremely rare Eugenia tinctoria, or look at our whole collection!
