Onychopetalum periquino is a tree species belonging to the Annonaceae family, with a self-sustaining growth pattern. It originates from Amazônia, Mato Grosso in Brazil, as well as Acre and RondôNia. The leaves of the tree are simple and broad.
The fruit of the tree has sweet flesh with a slight astringency near the skin.
